Flossing Your Brain
According to the University of Buffalo, researchers report that gum disease doubles your risk of stroke. That's a bit disconcerting considering 50% of people over the age of 55 have gum disease (American Academy of Periodontology). A build up of bacteria may enter the bloodstream at the gums which may then create fatty deposits in the arteries of the neck. Once those deposits harden, they can then break off, and lodge in the brain blocking blood flow. Therefore, good prevention to stroke would include flossing your teeth on a daily basis.
