Nonstick Toxicity
What's perfluorooctonoate? It's the chemical that is released into your food from nonstick cookware according to chemical engineers at ChemConscious, Inc. This substance is released from nonstick pans at temperatures above 350 degrees F. It has been linked to liver and immune problems, as well as infertility issues. One way to avoid this chemical is to lower the setting on the burner, or better yet, throw out the nonstick and replace with cast-iron and stainless steel cookware.
