Lower Blood Sugar Levels with this Amino Acid

An amino acid (leucine) found in cottage cheese has demonstrated an ability to reduce blood sugar levels, which is key to dodging the diabetes bullet. A study by the University of Illinois found that blood sugar levels were reduced within 48 hours after eating cottage cheese. They stated that the amino acid leucine targets muscle cells to uptake and use the blood sugar quickly. Other sources of leucine include chicken, fish, nuts, seeds, eggs and red meat. Harvard researchers also found that leucine increases energy levels by up to 50%.
