Sweetened Drinks Make You Fat!
Researchers at the University of California Davis studied the relationship between sweetened drinks made with high fructose corn syrup and body fat. At the end of the 12 week study, the men and women who drank the corn syrup drinks gained more dangerous visceral fat, and developed more resistance to insulin (an early sign of diabetes) than the control group. Cholesterols levels, triglycerides, and overall weight gain in the form of fat were also raised in the corn syrup group. Harvard University Dr. Walter Willet stated this study offers "the best evidence yet" not to let kids consume large quantities of these sweetened products.
